Join us for a weekend of birding in Umatilla County during our Birding Blitz from Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 19 – with additional birding opportunities on the 16th and 20th.

An exciting county in northeastern Oregon, Umatilla County offers everything from the Columbia River to the Blue Mountains. With such a diversity of habitats, we’re guaranteed to find a large variety of birds!

Itinerary and Registration

The Umatilla County Birding Blitz headquarters will be near Pendleton, Oregon. We will finalize meeting location information a few weeks in advance. We will meet each morning or preceding evening to assign areas, coordinate efforts, and exchange information. Want to know more about the exciting birding and other recreational opportunities in Umatilla County? Check out our Umatilla County Birding Spotlight.

On the mornings of June 17-19 we will break into groups and count birds in and near assigned Oregon2020 Hotspot Squares. Teams can spend the rest of the day chasing rarities or exploring interesting looking habitats.

This will be a free event. However, participants will be responsible for their own accommodations and meals. We recommend booking accommodations at nearby lodging and camping around Pendleton as early as possible.
