Join us for a weekend of birding in Tillamook County during our Birding Blitz from Saturday, June 4 to Sunday, June 5.
The Oregon Coast is a fantastic place to bird, and Tillamook County is no exception. Tillamook County also offers dense inland forest and coast range birding for added variety.
Itinerary and Registration
The Tillamook County Birding Blitz headquarters will be in Bay City, Oregon. We will finalize meeting location information a few weeks in advance. We will meet each morning or preceding evening to assign areas, coordinate efforts, and exchange information. Want to know more about the exciting birding and other recreational opportunities in Tillamook County? Check out our Tillamook County Birding Spotlight. (Downloads as a PDF)
On the mornings of Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 we will break into groups and count birds in and near assigned Oregon2020 Hotspot Squares. Teams can spend the rest of the day chasing rarities or exploring interesting looking habitats.
This will be a free event. However, participants will be responsible for their own accommodations and meals. We recommend booking accommodations at nearby lodging and camping around Bay City, or nearby towns of Garibaldi, Idaville, and Tillamook.
Would you like to join us? Please help us plan by registering in advance.
Please specify if you would like to meet Friday evening and/or if you have preferred birding areas or teams. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. We look forward to seeing you there!
