Join us for a weekend of birding in Josephine County from Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1.
From Grants Pass to the Oregon Caves, Josephine County contains a number of exciting “California specialties” like Oak Titmouse, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and California Towhee. Scenic habitats range from the Siskiyou Mountains to Rogue River valley. Josephine promises to be a fun birding blitz!
Itinerary and Registration
The headquarters for the Josephine County Birding Blitz is Grants Pass, Oregon. We will meet each morning or preceding evening to assign areas, coordinate efforts, and exchange information.
On the mornings of June 29-July 1, we will break into groups and count birds in and near assigned Oregon2020 Hotspot Squares. Teams can spend the rest of the day chasing rarities or exploring interesting looking habitats.
This will be a free event. However, participants will be responsible for their own accommodations and meals. We recommend booking accommodations at nearby lodging and camping as early as possible.

Would you like to join us? Please help us plan by registering in advance (below).
Please specify if you would like to meet prior to surveys and/or if you have preferred birding areas or teams. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. We look forward to seeing you there!
