Join us for a weekend of birding in Jackson County during our Birding Blitz from Friday, May 20 to Sunday, May 22. This Blitz will be in conjunction with the Klamath Bird Observatory Mountain Bird Festival!

Itinerary and Registration

The Jackson County Birding Blitz headquarters will be near Ashland, Oregon. We will finalize meeting location information a few weeks in advance. We will meet each morning or preceding evening to assign areas, coordinate efforts, and exchange information. Want to know more about the exciting birding and other recreational opportunities in Jackson County? Check out our Jackson County Birding Spotlight.

On the mornings of May 20-22, we will break into groups and count birds in and near assigned Oregon2020 Hotspot Squares. We may also participate in activities associated with the Mountain Bird Festival. Teams can spend the rest of the day chasing rarities or exploring interesting looking habitats. There may even be opportunities to see Great Gray Owls!

This will be a free event. However, participants will be responsible for their own accommodations and meals. We recommend booking accommodations at nearby lodging and camping around Medford or Ashland as early as possible.
